Sore back, shoulders, neck

May 8, 2008

I don’t really feel like doing anything today- I tried to bound out of bed at 6.30am to walk The Snoring Dog (TSD) but for some reason my neck, upper back and shoulders are so sore it feels like someone cracked me across the back with a cricket bat in the night. I think it could be due to my really poor form doing planks and push ups yesterday coupled with poor posture whilst knitting on the couch.

I am feeling a bit disappointed because I was looking forward to my ride/swim this morning. I feel a bit better after a hot shower, heat pack and some voltaren, but I don’t think a few hours on the bike will make things better.

I have to go with my sister this afternoon as she is having a gum biopsy (trust me, you can’t complain about your health to someone who has many many more serious ailments than you ever will, I know I have tried).

Anyway, after being a tad unhappy and quite stressed during my last week at work I think I am ready to be nice to my colleagues again.

  1. I have a sister who will always tells me that whatever I’m doing, saying, having etc is always wrong and that she’s done it, said it or had it better

Hope those aches and pains go soon :-(

  2. Damn pains. My sisters like that too, being chronically fatigued but I come back at her and say it doesn’t matter if she has aches cos she doesn’t use her legs that much anyway, whereas I need to go running!

  3. my sister just calls me a disaster-i am that other one (who without meaning to) has always had the disastrous things happen…oops,..but i promise im sympathetic to others :)

  4. It’s amazing how quickly I can get achey/painy if I sit in a stupid position for a while - happens all the time when I’m using my laptop.

  5. So glad to read that you had some 30 minute+ runs, that is such good news.

I ALWAYS without fail eat and drink way way way too much when I visit my brother and sister, they are such a bad influence on me.

Enjoy the rest of your leave, so cool just taking each day as it comes.

  6. Knitting is dangerous - so much fun and relaxing while you’re doing it, so stiff the next day!
You’re being so consistent, one day won’t derail your Grand Plan
