35 minute run

May 7, 2008

The Sulky Dog and I went for a run this morning- after sleeping in until 10.45- and it is obvious that running with TSD slows me down at a rate of about 200metres for every 35 mins. For my previous 35 minute run I ran 4.88 km, but this time I only managed 4.69km. I stop the clock for the toilet stops but it is the stopping and starting combined with the dragging of a 28kg dog when she REALLY wants to go back and play with another dog.

After the run I did some push ups, planks and some proper stretching- I was going to do weights but I still have a sore upper back and shoulders from painting the ceiling at my brothers house in Perth.

Anyway, I have the rest of the week off and no real plans! Might ride to the Academy tomorrow for a swim then head back- that should kill some time and keep my legs moving. As usual I started leave with grand plans of losing these kilos but it certainly hasn’t happened.

  1. What a lovely time in Perth you had (scowls jealously)
You’re turning into a running machine - 35 minutes, well done

  2. 200m in 35 mins seems about right for our dog too, and I thought Jack Russels were supposed to be fast, energetic little dogs, but all she wants to do is stop and sniff every blade of grass (and anything else she finds).

  3. What’s a holiday if you can’t eat and drink too much (btw, the chocolate factory sounds devine) and play monsters! Sounds great - don’t worry, you’ll get back into it soon enough.

Hmmm, I remember the times of trying to walk Jack and him being completely non compliant and wanting to play - but that is why we love them!
